Mission Statement

The Edgar Allan Poe Literacy Development School Community values and respects the culture, home language and family traditions of our students.

As educators, parents, students, and community members, we are committed to work as partners to guide our students to become high-level readers, writers and critical thinkers and to ensure that all students are on their way to being college and career ready.

We believe that all children will achieve high performance standards in a nurturing, safe and risk-free learning environment which supports differentiated classroom instruction in a sequential rigorous curriculum, enhanced by the integration of the arts and technology.

Please explore the PS46 website for relevant information, online resources, and above all else, for keeping an open line of communication between the staff and our student’s homes.

Thank you for being a part of the PS 46 community!
